Seagul Queen

Made this head dress for a party at the weekend, I'm not a big fan of fancy dress as I just want to go to an event dressed as me, not a UFO or a turtle or a cowgirl etc. The theme was pretty vague so I decided to make a massive head dress out of all the seagul feathers I've collected. Its been on the agenda for a while so I thought its now or never! Its made out of feathers, wire wrapped sea glass, reclaimed fishing nylon from the beach, shells, swarovski crystals and hemp, and I wore a super sparkly sequin dress and some of my shell studs. I'm thinking of making more of these for the shop as I was so pleased with the end result, and it also looks fab on a tophat too!

Goodbye, untill next time!

Just thought I'd add these photos too of sausage and bean at Menabilly the other day, was collecting shells for more stud earrings. I kept saying I would post them in the shop but my two batches sold out at craft fairs before I could add them, will defo get round to saving some for the online shop this time!
Anyway, heres sausage and bean again, doing what they do...

more new sea glass loveliness...

More new additions in the shop...

Lots of brown sea glass, do not under estimate the brown, it may not seem as colourful as its counterparts but it goes with pretty much everything! Just don't wear it with more brown as you may look a bit muddy!!!

Dad day

Took dad to Millinsey Mill yesterday, we seem to go here alot when i'm down so seemed fitting. I've blogged about Millinsey Mill before so I won't jabber too much about it again!!!

Took dads car out, LOVE this one he has (he collects cars like normal people collect stamps!)

Bean was a bit apprehensive at first as the engine is super loud in this car, me and dad kept going "WHAT?!" at each other! Sausage sat on the sausage shelf at the back. Not sure what the correct terminology is but its not a seat but a perfect ledge for a long dog to lie on!

Super cool cups! All their china is Willow, how cool is that?!

Birds eating at our table...

Earl grey tea, what else?!

Mmmm cake AND CLOTTED CREAM for dessert!!!

Bought another funny magnet, he does seahorses now! I am amounting a large collection of these and my penchant is growing!

Me and the long one!

My lovely dad! I know he reads my blog as he admitted this recently! So...Thanks for being an awesome dad! You are always there for me and Liv whatever and whenever and I love you loads!!! :-)

Goodbye, untill next time!

Star Jewellery

Internet back now, praise the lord! Been busy photographing and editting photos for shop but heres a sneak preview of some of my new products. I am a bit obsessed with wirewrapping the sea glass with a "star" motif at the moment, and they sold well at the Open House during May and at the Makers Boutique markets in Brighton, spurring me on further...

I love this one, so dainty, can't really make out the design of the necklace very well in this one, but I have taken these to show perspective, here it is below...the pieces are so teeny tiny!

Starting from £8 for a pendant on chain / Brooch / bracelet.
Taking me dad out for fathers day tomorrow so expect them all in the shop on Monday, hope you like :-)
Goodbye, untill next time!!!

Clay tips

Ahh the inevitable rain...took Bean and sausage up to the Clay tips this evening for their walk and the heavens promptly opened. Typical!
If you ever fly into Newquay you will notice all the Clay tips from the air and the beautiful milky blue pools of water dotted around. Lots of people think the tips are ugly but I like the way the industry has changed the landscape, its almost lunar. Most of the areas arent mined for China Clay anymore so Imerys has opened many of these sites up to the public and let nature take its course, its an unusual yet beautiful place to visit and has inspired many artists.

Had a David Hockney-esque moment here, his latest work from the yorkshire countryside of paths and avenues...obviously his work is ten billion times better than my iphone pic but the inspiration was there!

Hockney would be happy to see a Dachshund running about though!

Goodbye, untill next time!
